About Cartoon Populi

Amateur editorial cartoons for the modern eye

Cartoon Populi is a community platform for amateur editorial cartoonists — people who pick up a pen (or a stylus) not for a paycheck, but because they have something to say about the world.

"Sharp commentary doesn't require a syndication deal."

Editorial cartooning has a long and proud history as one of journalism's most powerful tools. A single image can puncture pomposity, expose contradiction, and make people laugh and wince at the same time. For most of that history, the gatekeepers were the editors of major newspapers. Cartoon Populi exists to open the door wider.

We believe there are talented, perceptive, and funny people out there with drawings in their notebooks and opinions in their heads, who have never had a place to share them. This is that place.

How It Works

Anyone can create an account and submit cartoons for review. Our editors look at every submission and approve those that meet our Terms of Participation: original work, legal content, in the spirit of editorial commentary. We're not looking for perfection — we're looking for something to say.

Approved cartoons appear in the public gallery, where visitors can browse by category, search by topic or artist, and leave comments. Logged-in members can also like cartoons and follow conversations.

Editorial Independence

The views expressed in cartoons and comments are entirely those of the individual contributors. Cartoon Populi does not endorse or adopt the political views of any submission. We will publish cartoons from across the spectrum, provided they meet our content standards. What we won't tolerate is hate, harassment, or deliberate misinformation.

Who Runs This?

Cartoon Populi is an independent, non-commercial project. It is run by volunteers with a fondness for ink, satire, and the belief that civic commentary belongs to everyone — not just the professionals.
